Located within a large private property, the church has partially retained its original limestone architectural structure up to the upper cornice of the apse.
The apse, surmounted by a cornice that supports the roof, features a tall semicircular arched window. The Romanesque portal, also with its semicircular arch, is still intact. Only the original architrave has been replaced by a stucco cornice.
This was a parish church connected to the village of Formignano and in use as such at least until the end of the 16th century.
In the 19th century, with the local population reduced to just four families, it was transformed into a simple oratory.
