The existence of Montepescini has been known since 1055, when the territory of Murlo was donated by the Holy Roman Emperor to the bishops of Siena.

The vicissitudes of the 14th-century wars led to its destruction at the end of the 14th century; the castle was an interesting example of Tuscan fortified architecture.

Today, much of the base of the walls and some modest sections remain.

Next to it stands a large building around a tower, probably from the 16th century, with large vaulted bases; other buildings date back to the 19th century, when the entire property was transformed into a villa and farm.
