The small fortified settlement of Campriano stands at an altitude of 306 meters above sea level, almost contrasting with Crevole and Murlo to the north. It nestles on one of the hills that extend beyond Radi and Corsano.
Today, the site is an exceptionally charming country residence, located along the road from Murlo to Radi.
The property, initially owned by the monks of Sant'Eugenio, changed hands between various families during the 12th and 14th centuries, being destroyed and rebuilt several times, according to the complex and even confusing vicissitudes and wars, until its destruction in 1368.
Currently, Campriano retains the two levels of its city walls, the upper one of which has a pentagonal plan.
The rest consists of several buildings, including two towers and the delightful Romanesque church of San Giovanni Battista Decollato, which also houses precious modern sculptures collected by the owner over time.
